Our Story

Ancient Remedies was founded in Melbourne in 2014 by Swiss-born naturopath and herbalist Dr Deb Hughes. Growing up in the serene landscapes of Switzerland, Deb developed a deep appreciation for nature and the healing power of plants. From a young age she immersed herself in the study of Switzerland’s diverse flora before beginning an apprenticeship at an integrative natural medicine clinic and school. She later continued her studies in Australia, graduating with excellence in naturopathy from the Australian Academy of Holistic Medicine in Perth. With over 15 years of experience in natural medicine, her passion has always been to help others reconnect with the healing power of nature.

Where It All Began

Ancient Remedies began as a simple experiment, creating a cream to help relieve psoriasis for Deb’s father. What started as a personal project soon grew into a deeper mission: to develop natural skincare that not only feels beautiful on the skin but genuinely supports people struggling with skin concerns. From those early experiments grew the philosophy behind Ancient Remedies, skincare that emphasises the importance of harnessing the wisdom of ancient practices and natural ingredients, which have been used for centuries to promote wellbeing and
beauty.
